TakeBag Expands to Tanjong Pagar–Tiong Bahru: 14,000 Bags Distributed to Empower E-Waste Recycling in Singapore

At KGS, we are committed to creating a more sustainable future by transforming how communities approach e-waste. As part of that mission, we’re excited to announce the launch of our TakeBag initiative in the Tanjong Pagar–Tiong Bahru region, marking the second major area in Singapore where we are rolling out large-scale TakeBag distribution.

With the support of Mr. Foo Ce Xiang, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar–Tiong Bahru, we have begun distributing 14,000 TakeBags to residents across the constituency. This milestone represents a significant step in making e-waste recycling more accessible, convenient, and impactful at the neighbourhood level.

TakeBag is designed to simplify the recycling process — empowering households to collect their unwanted electronic devices in a dedicated bag and deposit them easily at participating Pick! lockers. From there, KGS ensures that the items are handled responsibly through proper recycling and secure data destruction, reducing environmental impact and preventing valuable materials from going to waste.

This initiative goes beyond just distributing bags; it’s about cultivating a culture of sustainability. By bringing TakeBag directly to homes, we’re making it easier than ever for residents to take part in protecting our environment and reducing Singapore’s e-waste footprint — a critical issue as the nation generates over 60,000 tonnes of e-waste annually.

The launch in Tanjong Pagar–Tiong Bahru follows the success of our first regional deployment and marks another step in our broader mission to make TakeBag available across Singapore. And this is just the beginning — more neighbourhoods will soon join the growing network of communities embracing sustainable e-waste solutions.
