This momentous event was graced by the presence of our Guest of Honour, Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, who officiated the inauguration of our cutting-edge battery recycling facility on Tuesday.
Dr. Khor’s Resounding Endorsement
In her speech, Dr. Khor underscored the significance of our initiative, proclaiming, “KGS will increase Singapore’s battery recycling capacity by 30%, reaching 11,000 tonnes per year.” She emphasized the importance of this expansion in the face of the “growing volume of EV batteries… and lithium-ion batteries from ICT equipment, driven by wider digitalization.”

This boost in battery recycling capacity is not just about meeting escalating demands. Dr. Khor made it clear that it aligns closely with Singapore’s environmental objectives. “Battery and e-waste recycling is integral to Singapore’s target of reducing landfill waste by 30% by 2030,” she highlighted.
